Providing activities For boys and girls in the Hackney area. The Boys' and Girls' Brigade is a uniformed Christian organisation for children aged 5 to 15. At the 1st Hackney we run a number of activities for different age groups including sports, games, crafts, group activities, trips, camps, musical activities and much more!

Who Are The 1st Hackney

The 1st Hackney is based at Clapton New Testement Church, which is on the corner of Downs Park Road and Cricketfield Road, London, E5 8NS. The Boys Brigade was founded in 1890 and have run uninterrupted ever since.

The 1st Hackney gets involved in many local events, including fun days, community events and even an invitation to House of Commons.

How Do I Get Involved?

Each age group meets on a Monday night during school term time in the Church Hall at Corner of Downs park and Cricketfield Road, at the following times:

Anchors | ages 5 - 8:

6.30pm to 7.45pm

Junior Section | ages 8 - 11:

6.30pm to 7.45pm

Company Section | ages 11 - 15:

6.30pm to 7.45pm

Parents are invited to stay for complimentary tea and coffee in our BB Cafe.
